Perhaps the future of Warzone is a single launcher just called Call of Duty. Perhaps multiplayer-only players can just grab a new experience every so often for a discount.
While customization has always been a thing with Android devices, Apple allowing this is a big change, and one that we welcome with open arms. If Activision can structure the yearly Call of Duty releases around a successful free to play engine, perhaps the games themselves can continue to be add-on packs that don't carry a full price tag. One of the biggest features in iOS 14, and one that has been on the wishlist for many people, is the ability to customize your app icons.On top of that, people can get really creative with unique Home screen widgets to create a one-of-a-kind setup. The only issue is that it's been split into yearly $60 releases that fans have religiously picked up most years. Much like Fortniteand other live-service battle royales, Call of Duty has gotten new content of all shapes and sizes for years. The transition to making Call of Duty: Warzone the heart of the franchise was anything but smooth, but it does seem like a step towards the ideal scenario for fans going forward.
Players who are just interested in Modern Warfare multiplayer now have to download the massive battle royale in order to gain access, continuing a trend of storage space problems that have plagued recent releases in the franchise.
